Senior Scientist – Antibody Technology

Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology

About Gyes

Gyes is a science-driven biotech start-up committed to explore new frontiers in antibody drug discovery. Our curious and creative team of experts is committed to challenge the status quo by applying rigorous science and new therapeutic strategies to leverage our innovative Multispecific Antibody Platform (the MAP). The key element in our differentiating approach is targeting disease-causing cell subpopulations in cancer, autoimmunity and chronic inflammatory diseases. Doing it all, together, that is what keeps us going.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and talented Senior Scientist with affinity for antibody platform development and a strong background in cell biology and the field of antibody technology. You will play a crucial role in the development of our MAP technology. To this end, you will design studies to (functionally) characterize novel antibody formats and will be responsible for functional screening assays and data interpretation. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Design and lead studies, including functional assays, to characterize and select novel antibody formats.
  • Analyze and interpret data, both from your own experiments, those of our research associates and those generated externally, providing clear guidance on next steps.
  • Collaborate with top experts in academia and industry.
  • Apply your expertise and knowledge of the MAP technology to support and guide discovery teams, ensuring optimal use of the platform in ongoing discovery programs.
  • Report and present experimental findings, strategic insights, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Your Profile

You thrive to develop antibody formats to enhance the efficacy of next generation therapeutic antibodies. You enjoy antibody technology development and are an expert in pre-clinical research. Moreover, you have a flexible and hands-on attitude that blends in with the entrepreneurial nature of our company. You bring:

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience (biotech or pharma), or a combination of industry and translational postdoctoral experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with cell-based (required) and biochemistry (preferred) laboratory techniques.
  • Proven ability to independently interpret, troubleshoot, and communicate experimental data.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.

Why Gyes?

  • You work on pioneering immunotherapy research projects with a passionate team.
  • Collaborative, agile and innovative work environment with personal and professional growth opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation and the chance to make a real impact on the future of antibody therapy.

If you are passionate about antibodies and cell biology, possess a “believe nothing – research everything” mindset, and are eager to take on new challenges in a cutting-edge field, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and motivation to HRvacancy@gyes.com. Interested candidates from outside of the European Union are requested to only apply if they already have a permit to work in The Netherlands. Unfortunately, Gyes is not able to provide support or sponsorship to the application process for work permits.
