Gyes is a science-driven biotech start-up committed to exploring new frontiers in antibody drug discovery. Our curious and creative team of experts challenges the status quo by applying rigorous science and new therapeutic strategies to leverage our innovative Multispecific Antibody Platform (the MAP). The key element in our differentiating approach is targeting disease-causing cell subpopulations in cancer, autoimmunity and chronic inflammatory diseases. Doing it all, together, that is what keeps us going.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate with a strong background in Immunology or Cell Biology and hands-on experience with cell-based functional assays. You will play a crucial role in identifying the next generation therapeutic multispecific antibodies by setting up cell-based assays, performing functional screenings, and analyzing and reporting the results in a multidisciplinary team setting. Your key responsibilities are:

  • Independently lead the design, planning and timely execution of functional assays using cell lines or primary cells.
  • Develop and optimize functional assays.
  • Promptly document and analyze experimental results, draw valid conclusions, design follow-up experiments and present insights to the project team.
  • Collaborate with the research team to plan and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Provide guidance/be a mentor for (junior) Research Associates.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience with cell-based assays. You thrive to develop and run complex experiments. Moreover, you have a flexible attitude that blends in with the entrepreneurial nature of Gyes as a start-up biotech. You meet the following requirements:

  • HBO (BSc) or MSc degree in Immunology, Life Sciences, Cell Biology or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience in immunology or cell biology techniques, with a focus on functional assays. Preferably you have experience in industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, and other cell-based techniques, as well as ELISA.
  • Mature teamwork and communication abilities, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reproducible results.

Why Gyes?

  • You work on pioneering immunotherapy research projects with a passionate team.
  • Collaborative, agile and innovative work environment with personal and professional growth opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation and the chance to make a real impact on the future of antibody therapy.

If you are passionate about antibody therapeutics and human B cell biology, possess a “believe nothing – research everything” mindset, and are eager to take on new challenges in a cutting-edge field, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your CV and a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience and motivation to HRvacancy@gyes.com. Interested candidates from outside of the European Union are requested to only apply if they already have a permit to work in The Netherlands.
